Isaiah 26:3 (NiV) You will keep in perfect peace, him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
Where do we center our thinking? Listen to yourself talk and critically examine what others are saying about your conversation. If you’re constantly negative, consistently upset and contagiously down it is likely that the center of your attention is your fears, your discomforts or your unfulfilled desires. Thinking constantly on these things will always lead to discontentment, unhappiness and emptiness. But God will give us perfect peace if we stay our minds on Him, on His goodness and on His faithfulness. It’s easy to begin. Start with simply thanks: thank you God for making beautiful mornings that even your enemies can find beautiful. Thank you God for inventing cool breezes – I enjoyed one just this afternoon. With practice you will find yourself in a constant state of amazement – and the perfect peace He promises will be yours. Start today.
