…Sanballat and Geshem sent to (Nehemiah) saying “Come, let us meet together among the villages in the plain of Ono.” (Neh. 6:2)
Our friend Pastor Bill Wilson once said that no one likes to change and when you and I try to do something new there will always be people from the land of “Ono” to give their opinion. “Oh No – you shouldn’t get involved in that church – they’ll volunteer you to death.”“Oh No – you can’t beat that temptation, that’s just something you have to live with.” And the list goes on….
Sometimes the “Oh No” people have all the best intentions and when you feel that God is leading you to do something or change something in your life you can often feel all alone. Nehemiah felt that way and Sanballat and Geshem and their crew did everything they could to get Nehemiah to give up. But Sanballat and his boys were from the land of “Oh No” and whatever God has called you to do you CAN do with His help. God has given you the power to choose dedication over discouragement and resolution over resignation. You just have to make up your mind to trust God and go for it!
