Pastor Paul Halley

Associate Pastor of Christian Education

How long I've been attending CCFS and my role here:
I have been a member of CCFS for sixteen years.  I am now six years in my present role.  I have been in the ministry of children here for some fifteen years.

My role entails teaching in the FourteenSix Christian Academy and oversight of the same; over water baptisms; my wife, Bonnie, and I counsel and educate married couples; over missions domestic and foreign. The discipleship, baptism and teaching of the children are my favorite things.  I also adore the fellowship, the counseling and praying over people, the people, the flock, my brethren.

How I came to know the Lord:
Having grown up in the church, I came to accept the sinfulness of this world and of myself and its role in the struggles of close family relationships at a very early age.  By the time I was thirteen I was fully convinced that I was in need of the Savior.  I have wandered a bit through life from Christ and His body, but never far enough that I could not find my way back home to Those who led me and loved me.
Favorite Bible Verses:
Micah 6:6, 7 & 8: “How shall I come to my Lord? Shall I bow before Him with burnt offerings of yearling calves?  Will He be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousand rivers of oil?  Shall I give the firstborn of my flesh for the sin of my soul?  He has shown you, oh man, what is good: and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”  And then there is Philippians 2:12-13.  And then there is the “Blessed Exchange”: 2Corinthians 5:21, “He Who knew no sin became sin that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Favorite worship songs:
“Even If…” by Mercy Me and Lauren Daigle’s “I will trust in you”. Because we humans have to learn sooner or later that we cannot manipulate God.  He is grand and we, well, not so much.  But like a good Father he is kind and loving and knows how to give good gifts.  It is for us to be still and know that He is God and to wait.  We don’t like that so much because we are knockers, seekers and askers.  Push, push, push.  Don’t forget too, that He is a consuming fire.  So be courteous, considerate, respectful with praise and thanksgiving on our lips.

Favorite quotes from Pastor Pat's Sermons:
“So, let us start with a little story”, “The rapture could come at any time”, “Be good, and don’t do anything evil”
